Onthis day five years ago, I said goodbye to my father. Gary Hammill Sr. was 58 years old.
Dad was larger than life. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. His funeral was attended by current and former mayors, clergy (lots of clergy), community leaders, along with friends and members of our enormous family. The wake was literally an all night event.
